EXSC 440: Research in Exercise Science: Methods

HOW?

The methods section describes how the study was conducted.  There should be enough information in this section to replicate the study.

Examine the following elements:

• Research design - can it answer the question?

• Intervention (if there is one)

• Sampling - how were participants (or articles for a systematic review) selected?

• Materials or measures

• Data sources

• Procedures

• Analysis strategy

• Approval - was the study approved by an IRB or ethics board?
